Animal Kingdom's Wild Planet Strikes

Animal Kingdom is still hitting the scoreboard here in Australia with his highly-rated son, Wild Planet (pictured), winning the Group 2 Iron Jack Theo Marks Stakes (1300m) at Rosehill on Sunday.

It was the fourth Black-Type race win by the five-year-old gelding with the Group 2 victory bettering his three previous Listed Wins.

The Team Hawkes trained galloper was second-up this prep after a horrid run in the Group 3 Show County Quality (1200m) at his first assignment after a spell.

The Group 1 Epsom Handicap has now been touted as a target for Wild Planet as he makes a play to become the third Group 1 winner for his sire.

Animal Kingdom may no longer stand in Australia but none-the-less he is still getting the job done all over the world from his time standing at Arrowfield.

His most recent top-flight winner was Oleksandra (pictured) claimed the Grade 1 Jaipur Stakes (1200m) at Belmont in June of this year. Oleksandra was bred in Australia at Arrowfield Stud being out of Alexandra Rose and started her career with Bjorn Baker before being transferred by owner, Team Valor, to California.

Angel Of Truth is the other Group 1 winner for his sire when claiming the ATC Derby (2400m) and is now in the care of the same trainer's as Wild Planet, Team Hawkes. He is being aimed at races such as Group 1 The Metropolitan (2400m) and the Group 1 Caulfield Cup (2400m).

Todd Blum Bloodstock has always been a fan of Animal Kingdom and although he didn't reach the heights that we thought he would he has still left plenty of quality stock and there are still some more that are coming such as the Australian Bloodstock owned Animate.

TBB have offering's in an Animal Kingdom filly out of the Star Witness mare, Litigation. Litigation was a serious horse winning six races and this is her first foal.

She is very attractively priced and she will be trained by Robert Kingston out of his Mornington base who has been very pleased with her progress.

"She was broken in by Daniel Burnet and has come down to me and taken everything before her," said Kingston.

Todd Blum also added, "at TBB we love fillies like this that start with a page before they even hit the track as no one can ever take that away from them."
