Ripplebrook becomes TBB's First Carnival Runner
The Sharyn Trolove trained Ripplebrook will become Todd Blum Bloodstock's first Flemington Carnival runner when he takes his place in the $500,000 Melbourne Cup Carnival Country Final over 1600m on Thursday.
Ripplebrook was purchased for $17,000 by Frankie Stockdale Racing and Todd Blum Bloodstock as a yearling and was then on sold at the Inglis Ready2Race Sale for $63,000. The gelded son of Hinchinbrook has gone on to be the winner of six races including a last start victory over 1600m at Seymour, granting him a spot in the Country Final over the same distance on Kennedy Oaks Day.
"WSharyn continues to do an excellent job with this horse who has been an excellent money spinner for those involved in him. To be purchased by Frankie for under $20,000 and then be sold for plus $60k and to go on and win close to $200,000, and he isn't finished yet, is an outstanding result," said Todd Blum.
"He hads to Flemington to give the stable a runner over the Carnival and for us to be associated with him in some small way is also a big thrill.
"He isn't without a chance in this race either coming off a last start win over the distance and he is a nice big horse so Flemington will suit him to the ground. He finsihed second here a couple starts back to a smart horse of Matt Cumani's in Wetakemanhattan who is one of the fancies on Saturday in the second race so he is right amongst this ata . good price."
Todd Blum Bloodstock would like to wish all connections the best of luck with Ripplebrook on Oaks Day.
