Teyssier To Debut

The Stuart Kendrick trained Teyssier will debut this weekend at the Gold Coast in STA TRAVEL Maiden Handicap over 900m.

Teyssier was originally a $30,000 purchase by Frankie Stockdale and Todd Blum Bloodstock out of the 2016 Inglis Premier Yearling Sale and was then on-sold through Stockdale's draft at the 2016 Inglis Ready 2 Race Sale as a two-year-old later that year.

Kendrick purchased the colt for $30,000 saying after the sale "he is physically very strong and will run early and I will probably put him straight into work."

"I am really excited to see how Teyssier goes in his debut this weekend and I really hope he runs well," said Todd Blum.

"He is the fourth colt to debut from the group that Frankie and TBB bought last sale's season to send through the Ready 2 Race Sale after the success that Frankie had there the previous year.

He was a nice colt physically and moved really well and that showed when he breezed-up in 11 seconds flat with the fastest time at the Cranbourne breeze-up's was 10.26 seconds which was actually another colt that Frankie and I purchased."

The now gelded two-year-old is by Star Witness who is just starting to hit his straps as a sire with the likes of dual Group 1 winner Global Glamour and boom colt Star Turn performing this season.

Teyssier is out of the Fastnet Rock mare Body Language who has had one other foal to race. Feisty Jane is by Snippetson and now races in New Zealand.
