Channing to Debut
Amy Johnston heads to Mornington on Wednesday with her first starter, Channing, to line up in the Ladbrokes Info Hub Plateover 1200m.
Mayford Park are a part-owner of the three-year-old and are keen to see the son of Magic Albert get to the races after an impressive showing in a Mornington jump-out last week.
"We are really looking forward to seeing Channing get to the races and to see what he can do," said Mayford Park owner, Bruce Maya.
"We have jumped into a few horses with Amy with the other two having recently raced it is good to see them all up and about."
One of the other horses that Mayford Park are involved in is the talented three-year-old, I'm Telling Ya, who was on the path to the Caulfield Guineas.
Channing is by Yarraman Park's Magic Albert and is out of the Commands mare, Jester's Girl. Jester's Girl is out of the Listed winning mare, How Funny.
Channing was a $40,000 purchase for Amy Johnston at the 2015 Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale.
Channing will be ridden by Chris Parnham who is fresh in the mind of punters with his recent association with the Darren Weir trained, Voodoo Lad, who finished a credible second in the Yulong Park Sir Rupert Clarke Stakes at Caulfield on the weekend.
