First Runner, First Winner for TBB
Zoot Suit Riot showed a blistering turn of foot at Kilmore on Monday to win the Kilmore Turf Cup 22 November 2015 Handicap over 1112m, in what was his first start for trainer, Adam O'Neill.
After jumping even, Cory Parish took him to the rear of the field and settled last. As they came down the hill and hit the home turn, Parish took Zoot Suit Riot around the field and ran them down in an impressive display with 59kgs on his back.
"It was a great win for Adam and his team and it was a big thrill to have the first TBB runner a winner." Said Todd Blum.
"It was also satisfying because TBB had some clients involved in the Not A Single Doubt gelding as well."
Adam O'Neil added "it was an impressive win and an even better ride. Cory rode him really well taking him around the field and avoiding trouble. He rode him in his two trials before that start so he had a good understand of the horse' said O'Neill.
"He has shown us plenty at home so we were keen to see him at the races and I think he will take a lot of improvement out of that run.
"We had some new faces in the stable involved in him so it was good to get a winner for them as well."
Zoot Suit Riot now takes his overall record to two wins, two seconds and two thirds from ten starts. He has now taken his prize money to $33,605.
