Faatinah To Run On Cup Day

The TBB and O'Neill Racing teams will be hopeful that Faatinah can continue his recent run of brilliant form when he lines up on Cup Day in the Schweppes #FlemingtonFling over 1000m.

Faatinah is by Nicconi and is out of the Danehill mare, Alqwah, which makes him a half to the TBB purchased, O'Neill trained, Rawoof.

Rawoof was originally trained at Lindsay Park for Shadwell Stud and after one start was sent to the Inglis Australian Broodmare and Weanling Sale where she was purchased for by Ponderosa Park. After the plans at Ponderosa Park changed, manager Paul Kelly, entrusted TBB to sell the young promising mare and clients of Adam O'Neill's snapped up the opportunity.

"Rawoof is coming along very nicely since she has been in the stable," explained O'Neill.

"She has taken us a little while to work out but we are very happy with the way she is progressing and we were happy with the way she went in her jump out also."

Faatinah is trained at Lindsay Park and owned by breeder, Shadwell. He won impressively on debut at Geelong and then backed it up with a hard fought second to Mr Individual, who has gone on to win again. His last start he was third in the Listed Poseidon Stakes, only two lengths off them, in what was a significant pedigree update for Rawoof.

Michael Walker again takes the ride, having ridden him in all his three previous starts.
