Faatinah's Impressive Start To Spring
Faatinah was a very impressive winner on the Geelong Synthetic on Tuesday, breaking his maiden at his first start.
The recently gelded son of Nicconi was riden beautifully by the in-form Michael Walker to stalk them to the turn and then display an impressive turn of foot to run away from the field.
Faatinah is out of the Danehill mare Alqwah, which makes him a half brother to the now Adam O'Neill trained filly, Rawoof. Rawoof was purchased privately, in a deal brokered by Todd Blum Bloodstock, from Ponderosa Park who purchased her from Shadwell.
Rawoof has only had the one career start to date but has been impressing O'Neill who is giving the young mare plenty of time to develop.
"It was great to see Faatinah win so impressively which gives the owners of Rawoof a strong pedigree upgrade," explained Todd Blum.
"He has certainly stamped himself as a horse to follow coming into the spring if he can continue to work through the grades who knows what he is capapble of."
Rawoof is progressing very nicely and shouldn't be too far off having her second start and first with the O'Neill stable.
