Nichols Pair Looking To Continue Winning Run

Shane Nichols will have two live chances in two days to continue his winning run. Band On The Run heads to Geelong Synthetic on Tuesday and I Am The General heads to Sportsbet-Ballarat on Wednesday.

Band On The Run will line up as the most experienced two year old in the first race on the card, The Briseis Club SV 2YO Maiden Plate over 1300m.

Band On The Run is coming off a freshen up after her third on the Synthetic at Pakenham. The I Am Invincible filly has raced seven times for three placings and is due to break through.

She started her career with a couple of placings in Listed races and has been a touch unlucky in her starts since.

Jake Noonan will again take the ride after placing on her last start.

I Am The General will take his place in Race 3, the City of Ballarat NJT Series Heat 10 over 1000m at Sportsbet-Ballarat on Wednesday.

Craig Newitt retains the ride after winning last start on the I Am Invincible gelding at Cranbourne. He heads to Ballarat searching for his third win in five starts which also involved a second at Morphetville.

I Am The General was purchased for just $35,000 at the Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale by Nichols and has since won $112,675 in prize money and two city wins.
