Looking for the Major

Canadian Major will take his place in the Browns Racing Open Day 17th May - Mile Series Heat 3, the sixth race at Cranbourne tomorrow night.

The Mayford Park owned gelding will be having his third run back after a spell and has been a bit out of sorts lately after missing the start in his first run back at Racing.com Park and finding the 1200m to sharp and then an under par performance at the recent Warrnambool Carnival over the 1400m.

Canadian Major now steps back ino his comfort zone with his first run at his preffered mile this time in. Dean Holland will take his first ride on the Gelagotis trained gelding and has been in good form lately riding a winner on Monday at Benella.

Canadian Major has had ten starts at the 1600m and has won three of them and placed second a further two times. That is a brilliant strike rate and add on top of that he has won before at the track.

Peter Gelagotis has been happy with the way that Candian Major has been tracking since his slight setback a number of weeks ago. Canadian Major had a slight fever but bounced back really well and the owners and trainer are excited to see The Major back at his more suitable distance.
