Flemington Show as Band Rolls In

Band On The Run is back on the big stage at headquarters this weekend after a short break following her below par run in the Sires Produce.

The I Am Invincible filly is in the first race on the card at Flemington on Saturday and with veteran Steven King aboard she will be looking to regain some of her early two year old form.

Trainer, Shane Nichols, recognised her as a talented filly and took her for two raids on the Tasmaian black type races. Finishing second and third in her two races across the Bass Strait she has added value to her career after racing. As she is only a two year old I am sure she will be doing a lot more on the track to further enhance this value.

A $25,000 purchase from the 2014 Inglis Easter Yearling sale she is out of the Dixieland Band mare, Star Band. The US mare has had three foals to race for the one winner. Pulsar is a two time winner by Fastnet Rock and I'm certain Band On The Run will not be far off joining the gelding as a winner out of the mare.
