The General is Back in Command
I Am Invincible three year old, I Am The General, was a convincing winner at Swan Hill today taking out the sixth event on the card, the Pooles Accountants BM64 Handicap over 975m.
In Dean Yendall's first ride on the Shane Nichols trained speed machine he shot out of the barriers and was handy throughout. After the turn the leader Villainous Vixen tried to run away with the win but Yendall pushed the button on The General and away he went.
It was a good win for the gelding after he showed some very early promise being one of I Am Invincible's first city winners. He beat the promising colt Chivalry in his second start before heading to the Gold Coast for a tough run in the Magic Millions 2yo Classic.
After a few more runs it was decided to geld the colt to keep his mind on the job. This could prove to be the spark that I Am The General needs to pick himself back up and continue on with that promise he showed early on.
Speaking of exciting horses, the Shane Nichols trained Imiyalelo, makes her debut tomorrow at Kilmore. Imiyalelo is by Commands and out of Special Episode who is inturn out of Episode, the dam of super filly First Seal. Imiyalelo being by Commands makes her very closely related to the John Thompson trained Group 1 winner.
Imiyalelo was purchased by Shane Nichols Racing out of the Inglis Premier Yearling Sale and for $40,000 has already had a significant pedigree update and as a young filly she is an exciting prospect going forward.
