The Major Is Back
Mayford Park stalwart, Canadian Major, is back in town and will take his place in Sunday's meeting at Racing.com Park.
The Peter Gelagotis trained gelding is first up after a lengthy 23 week break where he relished the wind down after a four month preparation last spring.
He will line up in the John Duff & Co Benchmark 64 over 1200m with regular rider, Vlad Duric, aboard. Vlad was very excited to get back on the horse who he has ridden to two of his four wins.
The Evergreen son of Commands has plenty of quality racing left and was given some extra time in the paddock for this preparation. A plan has been mapped out by both the Gelagotis brothers and managing owner Bruce Maya of Mayford Park. Todd Blum Bloodstock is heavily involved with Mayford Park, with managing racehorses one of our main roles.
Canadian Major has won four of his 20 starts and placed a further two times and has earned just over $50,000 in prizemoney.
