Band On The Run For Sires Produce

A highlight on the Super Saturday card at Flemington this week is the Group 2 VRC Sires Produce Stakes. as well as the Group 1 Australian Cup and Newmarket Handicap, some of the best two year olds in the state will be vying for a shot at some prolific black type success.

Shane Nichols will be represented Band On The Run who was purchased by Shane himself at last years Inglis Easter Yearling Sale. The I Am Invincible filly is having her fourth start, all have which have been in stakes company.

She made her debut in the William Hill Blue Diamond Preview (fillies) and was only just over three lengths behind the winner, Fontiton. She then made two trips down to Tasmania in three weeks where she was beaten less than a length to finish second in the Elwick Stakes and then third in the Gold Soverign.

She comes up against some nice two year olds in the Sires in the Tony McEvoy Manahattan Blues and also the Godoplhin owned Sampeah. Both of which are coming out of the Group 1 Blue Diamond finishing fourth and eight respectively.

Band On The Run has already done her stud career no harm and and a Group 2 win in this high quality race will only enhance that.

Shane Nichols Racing has recently purchased another filly by I Am Invincible at the recent Inglis Premier Yearling Sale. To get involved or find out more about this filly tha is every bit as promising as Band On The Run, click here.
