General Win in Adelaide

I Am The General heads to Adelaide on Saturday in what is a very good chance to claim another win over the 1050m. The speedy son of I Am Invincible was a winner two starts ago and finished fifth at his last start at Mornington in the Get Around The @WilliamHillWolf Handicap over the 1000m. It was an encouraging run on the soft track in which he was only 1.75 lengths off the winner. I Am The General will again face a soft track which isn't a major issue although he prefers the good going. The large ownership group will be hoping for another good showing here in what will be his second city win if he can take out the race. Jason Holder will take the ride at 58kg and is in some good form with t

Looking for the Major

Canadian Major will take his place in the Browns Racing Open Day 17th May - Mile Series Heat 3, the sixth race at Cranbourne tomorrow night. The Mayford Park owned gelding will be having his third run back after a spell and has been a bit out of sorts lately after missing the start in his first run back at Park and finding the 1200m to sharp and then an under par performance at the recent Warrnambool Carnival over the 1400m. Canadian Major now steps back ino his comfort zone with his first run at his preffered mile this time in. Dean Holland will take his first ride on the Gelagotis trained gelding and has been in good form lately riding a winner on Monday at Benella. Canadian Maj

Flemington Show as Band Rolls In

Band On The Run is back on the big stage at headquarters this weekend after a short break following her below par run in the Sires Produce. The I Am Invincible filly is in the first race on the card at Flemington on Saturday and with veteran Steven King aboard she will be looking to regain some of her early two year old form. Trainer, Shane Nichols, recognised her as a talented filly and took her for two raids on the Tasmaian black type races. Finishing second and third in her two races across the Bass Strait she has added value to her career after racing. As she is only a two year old I am sure she will be doing a lot more on the track to further enhance this value. A $25,000 purchase from

Major Carnival At Warrnambool

The time honoured Warrnambool Carnival will play host to the Mayford Park owned, Canadian Major. The Peter Gelegotis trained son of Commands heads to 'The Bool' with an interupted preperation after being scratched from his last start. Team Gelagotis have been working closely with the horse to get him back to peak fitness for this target which has been in the pipeline since he came back into the stable. Mark Zahra takes the ride in what will be his first sit on the horse. The General is Back in Command

I Am Invincible three year old, I Am The General, was a convincing winner at Swan Hill today taking out the sixth event on the card, the Pooles Accountants BM64 Handicap over 975m. In Dean Yendall's first ride on the Shane Nichols trained speed machine he shot out of the barriers and was handy throughout. After the turn the leader Villainous Vixen tried to run away with the win but Yendall pushed the button on The General and away he went. It was a good win for the gelding after he showed some very early promise being one of I Am Invincible's first city winners. He beat the promising colt Chivalry in his second start before heading to the Gold Coast for a tough run in the Magic Millions 2yo
