Free Eagle x Grand Bird

 gelding

Trainer: Robert Kingston (Mornington)

This Free Eagle three-year-old gelding is the type of horse for the traditionalists out there. His sire, Free Eagle, was an outstanding racehorse in the Northern Hemisphere, a proper horse. This gelding has an excellent stature with great bone, strong shoulder and legs and is really shaping into a beautiful individual.

His sire, High Chaparral, has been doing tremendous things as a sire of sires also when you look at the names such as: So You Think , Dundeel and Toronado amongst others.

This horse has been given plenty of time to grow out into his attractive frame and when you buy into this fella the hard work has all been done. No waiting for him in a paddock because he is ready to go. He has been broken in some time ago and then has had a couple of preparations in Robbie Kingston's Mornington stables and he will hit the ground running in his three-year-old season.

Ready to trial in less than a month.

"The Free Eagle's have found themselves in all the right stables and his 19 yearlings that went through public auction this year sold up to $250,000," Todd Blum said.

"He is a very attractive horse and we fully expected the Free Eagle's to be more prominent as three-year-old's so it wouldn't be surprising to start seeing them bobbing up.

"Mitch Freedman has one that seems to go alright and raced against another of our horses at Geelong so keep your eye out as they start to hit the tracks."

His dam Grand Bird has now had six foals to race four five winners with the pedigree update and she herself was purchased last year for $70,000 at a Broodmare Auction.
